As a former college athlete, Kelsey is incredibly passionate about human behaviour and leadership, and has spent the past 10 years successfully studying, hiring, assessing and advising leaders. Prior to Monark, Kelsey spent over 7 years in a Canadian single-family office as Managing Director of Research (Viewpoint Group), overseeing a team of organizational psychologists dedicated to evolving society’s knowledge about organizational practices. Kelsey continues to act as a strategic resource and trusted advisor for various companies in energy, investment, and private equity, and regularly speaks on topics related to organizational behaviour, leadership, and performance. Kelsey holds a Masters of Science in Management from Queen's University, and sits on the Calgary Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
As an organizational psychologist Amanda’s passion lies in bridging the gap between leadership research and practice. She holds an MSc and a PhD in IndustrialOrganizational Psychology from the University of Calgary, and has over 8 years of experience consulting for organizations on leadership development and strategy. Prior to Monark, Amanda worked at Viewpoint Group (with Kelsey Hahn), where she oversaw efforts to advance organizational practices through the implementation of psychological assessments, supported in strategy facilitation, and played a key role in product research and development. She has published in peer-reviewed academic journals such as Personality and Individual Differences and Frontiers in Psychology. Amanda also currently co-leads Calgary’s IO Psychology Community, which connects a wide range of IO professionals across industry and academia.
Adam is a technology leader with two decades of experience working with a variety of technology companies, from large corporations down to very small start-ups. He has worked in both Canada and in the UK, leading local and remote technical teams spread across the globe. Adam’s primary focus from an advisory perspective is on oversight of technical execution based on product requirements, following best-practices using agile methodologies. He is a Computer Science graduate with a very hands-on focus on product development from a technical perspective.
Elisabeth is an accomplished graduate with a multi-disciplinary background in psychology and business. Her previous research experience in e-health training sparked her passion for supporting self-led initiatives, which she has continued to pursue at Monark. Elisabeth’s favorite part about working at Monark is the collaborative atmosphere with the team. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to merge her passion for business, background in research, and knowledge in different fields of psychology. Outside of work, Elisabeth enjoys traveling, and is lingually oriented.
Ling is a Full Stack Developer who contributes to the development of the Monark mobile app. Shortly after receiving her bachelor's degree in China, she moved to Canada to pursue her Masters of GIS degree at the University of Calgary. Before Monark, Ling was a GIS specialist for the City of Calgary, and prior to that she worked for a private data company in the Oil and Gas industry. Outside of work, Ling enjoys traveling, exploring cultural and natural wonders, and as of recently, she has been getting into gardening in her community garden box.
Julia graduated in 2021 with high distinction from Carleton University with a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Psychology. Previous experience as a research assistant specializing in gender, inclusion, and diversity prepared Julia well for her position at Monark where she still finds herself learning new skills on a daily basis. Julia loves to travel anywhere warm, with some of her highlights being Italy, Africa, and The Galápagos Islands. Any activity that involves an adventure, a dog, or dancing, you can count Julia in for!
Jennifer joins the Monark team with over 25 years of Product and Go-to-Market experience across a variety of industries, including Energy, Transportation, and Technology for companies including Shell, ATCO, Canadian Freightways, and SMART Technologies. She is excited to apply her skills within the start-up space, and to be part of a team that is forging new ground in an industry ripe for disruption. Outside of work, Jennifer loves good food and good wine, and enjoys traveling with her husband in pursuit of both! She is also working toward her Tea Sommelier designation, is an animal rescue volunteer, and passionate dog lover. You will most often find her with her golden retriever, Karma, by her side (or on her lap).
